Enzo Amore: A Future Manager?

Enzo Amore, the “Smack Talker Skywalker” as he likes to call himself, is currently in a rivalry with his previous best friend Big Cass. But the question is, what are they going to do with Enzo after this?

From what many are speculating, the WWE is going to try and push Big Cass as the next “big man” singles competitor. And what some are speculating from Enzo range from making the transition to the Cruiserweight division, to just being let go from the company all together.

His future is really kind of in limbo, and some don’t know what to make of it.

The thing is though, in all of the reports that I have read, I have not seen anything mention him becoming a manager.

The scene for managers now is just not the same as before. Back in the day, you had guys spanning from Jimmy Hart and Captain Lou Albano, to the unforgettable Paul Bearer.

But now, you have Paul Heyman, who is one of the great managers in history. I will also give some respect to Titus O’Neal with the whole “Titus Brand” gimmick he has going on right now. But who else? James Ellsworth with Carmella? Maryse with The Miz?

That’s why WWE needs a new, fresh face as a manager. It’s just something we haven’t seen in a while.

With his mic skills, Enzo Amore can really draw in the attention of the audience, and get them excited for just about anything. And not only that, his promos also have the ability to get the new guys over coming out of NXT.

For example, lets say you have a large indestructible tag team coming up from NXT. They are great in the ring, but are very lacking on the mic. WWE would be able to team them up with Enzo so that he can get them over with the fans, with minimal promos from the team themselves.

But if they don’t like that, the WWE really needs to figure SOMETHING out in order to keep Enzo. He is a GOLDMINE of epic proportions for the company, whether it’s TV appearances, or merchandise. Letting him go would end up being a major disappointment for all parties.

Now that you know what I think, I want to know what you think. VOTE below on the Weekly Sports World Twitter Poll with your opinion on if Enzo Amore would make a great manager.

New NBA Uniforms: A Money Grab?

If someone tries to convince me that what is being done with the NBA’s uniforms is an “innovation,” I’m literally going to puke. It’s not an innovation; it’s a pointless money grab, just like the logos on the jerseys.

Now, for those of you who may not know, let me fill you in on what I am talking about.

For the new season, the NBA will be unveiling FOUR PRIMARY uniforms for every team. The new names of these uniforms will be called the “Association” edition, the “Icon” edition, and a third and fourth edition inspired by the Athlete’s Mindset and the Community of the team respectively.

That’s not the problem I have, because team’s have had multiple alternatives and colors for years now. My problem is that they can choose whichever of the four they want to wear WHENEVER they want. No more “home” or “away” jersey restrictions, or anything like that. Just make sure you are wearing contrasting colors of uniforms.

But wait, there’s more……

There are going to be a select eight teams in the league that will have a “Classic” uniform that they can choose as well. These teams will probably include the Lakers, Celtics, Bulls, and any other franchises that have a long history of greatness, or that have had jersey styles that were the highest sold.

So that is four to five uniforms that teams will be cycling through within a span of a season. Not to mention, we are still probably going to get the Christmas Day uni’s, Halloween, Valentines Day and whatever other holidays they can squeeze more money out of.

Now I get it, this is really a small change in an otherwise BIG machine, and I really shouldn’t be annoyed at this. But this does nothing for the game of basketball, and it does nothing for the fan experience. All it does is just instill false hype in the fans, telling them that they have to have the whole line of jerseys so that they can be just like their favorite star.

Just play the damn game. We should be worried about how the teams are going to perform, the rivalries, and the standings. Not who’s going to wear what on the court that night.

But the sad truth is, there are people out there that will buy into this hype. You are going to have people lining up at various sporting goods stores, and bogging down the league’s shop page to make sure they have each one of those jerseys.

And you better believe, I’m not going to be one of them.

Now that you know how I feel about the situation, I want to hear from you. Vote now on the Twitter poll and let me know.

The Plan For Weekly Sports World

For a few years, this has been mainly just a blog. You’ve heard my opinions, you’ve seen my rants, and you’ve bet against my picks. But for Weekly Sports World, I want something more. More than just articles….

Sure, I know I don’t have the followers to really say alot. But you better damn well believe that I will be working my hardest to change that.

To start with the plan, I will continue to build and contribut to Weekly Sports World’s sports page. Sports are my passion, and I want to share my passion with the world. The thing is, I like to hear other opinions as well.

My plan to make this happen is to develop a community page so that fans of Weekly Sports World can contribute their own articles. Fans would be able to write their own articles, and publish them for everyone else to discuss.

Then, the plan is to COMPLETELY take over social media. Spread the name of Weekly Sports World across all platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Snapchat. This will not only continue to expand the discussion for the fans, but it will also give the company the opportunity to reach a vast range of people throughout the world.

Sticking with the topic of social media, the problem that has arisen is what would be published on the Weekly Sports World Instagram?

For this, the goal is to make the Weekly Sports World Instagram centered around sneakers. Fans would be able to see various pairs of shoes that they might already have, or are looking to buy from various brands. Fans would also be able to submit their own sneaker photos to show off their own collections.

I’ve also talked about this before, I know, but I want to develop multiple pieces of video and audio content for the company. These would include, but are not limited to podcasts, video podcasts, daily sports vlogs, comedy skits, etc..

You also might be telling yourself; “Kellen, this seems like alot of “business talk” that should be saved for behind the scenes. Why are you publishing it?”

It’s because if I’m going to preach a “for the fans” model, I’m going to let you all in on the plan. Yes, if and when some of these items occur, there might be rather sensitive information associated that can not be shared until after it is completed. But, believe me, whenever there is a new idea or development for Weekly Sports World, the fans will be in the loop.

This is a very extensive plan, and it’s going to take ALOT of hard work and time to make it a reality. And I am willing and able to put in that work to make it happen.

I want to build an empire! I want to change the game! So come along on the ride with me, cause it’s going to be a fun one!
